I have had my CWD for a month and I was just wondering if he is about to shed. Today his skin looks darker and duller than usual but I havent changed anything temperature or stress wise so I am not sure what else it could be. He is also a little less active.

Sounds like a good guess. That is the exact description I use when I describe my dragons before shed. It might take as long as a week for him to actually begin to lose skin and usually their appetite does decrease. If there have been no changes to his environment it is most likely time to shed, but even minor changes to their habitat can stress them slightly for a few days! Happy New Year.

Sounds like shed time to me. The first few times that your little one goes into shed mode, it will be scary. It's like they 'shut down' just a little. They dull in color and their appetite & activity decreases BIG TIME!!!
It will be ok & when he's done he will be gorgeous!!
This would be a good time to start daily (or every other day) soaks in the bath tub! They love to swim in the tub & they are so fun to watch!!

How much of their activity is decreased? Sobe has been very lazy today compared to usual and its scary? Could it be part of the shedding or a sign of illness? His appetite suddenly decreased as well. He still eats, but barely. When I got home from school today he had his eyes closed and was laying on the branch, now he is awake, but still far from as active as he usually is...

That sounds about how Zeke is right before a shed. The shedding prossess is pretty stressful for reptiles & I would imagain it may not feel very good either. Does his skin look almost grey in color & is there any loose at all? Try a nice warm bath & gently massage him. This should help speed things up in the shedding department!

At first his coloring was brown, but now it is starting to turn a greyish color around his head and tail

sounds like a good guess that he is shedding. Give him a nice warm soak in the sink/tub and gently message him like Zekey said. Hes going to be PUUURRRTTTTTTY when he is all done ;D

I do warm (77F-80F) water soaks for mine when they dull up and get ready to shed also. He'll be like a brand new dragon when he's done!

I have some bad news. Sobe started shedding yesterday and he looked like he was doing a lot better, a brilliant green color and everything. However he has had signs of MBD ever since I bought him, with his swollen legs and all. I thought that he was doing better because the swelling had gone down after I had him for a couple of weeks, but today he had a couple of seizures and then died. After the first seizure I tried contacting many vets but none of the reptile vets are available on sundays. I just wish there was something I could have done.

I am sorry to read about Sobe. More times than not the sick ones just can't fight off their illnesses despite the extra care given by their owners. I know it won't make your loss any easier, but you were trying to save her and made a good effort. Again, sorry for your loss.
