I heard somewhere that you can feed dragons baby food. Is this true? If so, what kinds are good for them?

I hear a lot talking about chicken baby food, I believe Daremoalpha2000 had someone tell him mango babyfood worked also. Also I have been told organic is better. I haven't tryed it but have heard of several that have. Also low sugar yogurt when they aren't feeling well.

I have read chicken, carrots, fruits are ok babyfoods to use, strawberry yogurt I have heard is also a good one.
I heard of a few ppl getting the babyfood, mixing it all together and then adding a lil Orange Gatorade or Pedialyte and giving either on a soft sthingy or from a needleless syringe. Mostly I have heard that these are normally used for sick wd's or ones that have stopped eating. I have heard of the yogurt being given as a treat every now and then also. I would always try to get them to eat their normal foods first tho. Just my opinion tho. *Remember to always get "low sugar" babyfoods or yogurts.*

The baby foods were suggested to me by a reptile breeder I was on the phone with for well over an hour talking about various food sources and set ups for my own silk worm culture which I am hoping to get set up very soon.

So Babyfoods are ok to give as a variety? I wouldnt have thought it would have been a good thing, I thought that it was mainly used for dragons who were ill or not wanting to eat. But I guess you learn something new everyday!! Thanks for the info DaremoAlpha!! ;D

Anything I learn I pass on , because if it will help somebody then it is a good thing.
Now I have not tried babyfoods with Awol yet because he eats everything live( except yogurt which he only gets if the wife has some ) but they have all the fruits and veggies so who knows I might be able to trick him into some LOL

I tried the baby food with my new dragon, which by the way is now named Saki, and he loves it. He wouldnt touch the shredded vegetables, but he loves the mango baby food which I tried for the first time tonight. I fed him a tiny serving on a small spoon and when I pulled the spoon away he ran and jumped out of the cage, landing on the spoon trying to find the food source

Sorry all It's the profanity filters on the board backend. They were left on there defaults so that attempts to be vulgar or profane are made silly or unintelegible. Apparently SOMEONE (whoever wrote that part of the program) thought s p o o n as a profane term of sorts. I'll get it fixed this morning. If anything like this happens again feel free to PM Elizabeth or myslef and we will get it fixed. I apologize for the confusion.

I'm sure I probably don't need to mention this but... just in case-a reptile stomach only holds 25-50 ml. If you are feeding by syringe please don't overdo it! LOL We don't need any "exploding" dragons. Drago is going to the vet Saturday because she is not gaining weight. After that visit, I intend to try introducing some of the baby food into her diet in an attempt to "fatten" her up and get her up to the level of the other 2. We used strained chicken baby food with Agua (my grand dragon) during her ill health and I am pleased to report that yesterday she ate 1 small mouse and 4 dozen crickets and has resumed her normal activity. She is no longer (obviously) receiving syringe food and won't open her mouth for the augmentin anymore, so it has been discontinued as well. I don't know what happenend, but I believe it was a combination of the egg-laying AND a little slip in winter temperatures in the viv. Her daytime and nightime bulb wattages have been adjusted and her temps are where they should be. Watch your temps carefully-the dramatic changes we have had in the midwest this winter have been making it extremely difficult to maintain stable temps.
