Ok this is going to seem like a silly question but when you use a ceramic heat emittor do you need a special light fixture for it or can you use any reptile lamp?

Any reptile lamp rated for the same wattage (preferably better) with a ceramic socket will work. Plastic socket lamps work for a small amount of time but very well may burn up and catch on fire.
