I stopped off at a local pet store the other day to pick up some aquarium stuff for the fish. As usual I always stop and look at the reptiles. I saw a 6-8 month old dragon sitting in it's cage. It's crest had been chewed up ( most likely by the roving crickets in the cage ). It was severely malnurished, it's hip bones were sticking out bad. It looked in really bad shape =\ It was $24 which isn't too bad and I almost got it as a mercy buy to help the lil bugger out but I don't have the room to set up a quarentine cage for it at the moment.
Has anyone had any luck reporting the improper care of these animals? Who should I contact?

I have yet to find a pet store in my area that is severly mistreating the animals. By severely I mean to say all of them have at least the basics they need. The worst case I have seen is water dragons at a locale shop that were wild caught adults. They looked dirty and wild and had nose rub. I blame the exporters who actually sold adult dragons more so then the pet shop, but I don't have the room or the heart to rescue even a single one of them. I would hate to get a dragon with pre-exisiting issues and lose it to sickness. I hear the SPCA is the agency to contact if things are noticeably out of hand.
