i put this in here, cuz u havent answered in the breeding section: well as u kno, katie has been digging like crazy, today i went up and saw her, and she was looking quite skinny. i poked around her belly and it was totally empty. so i took out the egg box to dig around and there, on the ground, were 6 beautiful egg. i put them immediately in the incubator. My problem is that she laid them NEXT to her egg box, on the clod ground. im not sure if they had rooled, but they had dents in them . They also were VERY cold when i picked them up. My temps were at 90 so i put them in and turned it down. im going to check on them real soon. IM SOO EXITED!!!!! so this week im going to get some hoppers for her. and leo. (even though he doesnt need anymore) lol. when should i expect more eggs from her??? i put the egg box bak in as it looked like she was a little big still. will she lay some more tonight? also will they be ok with the dents? ?? dragonlvr9

I have not had any egg experience myself but I have heard of some dragons dragging out the laying process over 3 days or so, a few here a few there. If you suspect she is holding moreby all means put the box back in. She could lay again as soon as 30 days or maybe not at all again this year. It depends on her health and the food resources she has available. Be sure she gets plenty of calcium and high nutrient food now as she has to re-gain all that lost calcium and fat reserve she spent to making eggs. As far as the eggs all you can do is follow the nortmal instructions and hope they hatch. The dents should puff themselves out when you incubate them, if not no worries unless they start to rot. Where she did not lay them in dirt and cover them up I suspect they may not be fertile, but I have heard of fertile eggs being dropped in some odd places also, so who is too say. Best of luck and hopefully some one with more experience posts for you.

Hey, Chels, I agree with everything Pooka said above. Hope they are fertile, but T.D. answered your post on repticzone and said a lot of time the first clutch are not fertile for some reason. Good luck-at least they came out and Katie is all right.

i have noticed most of the time the first cluch is not fertal. 90 will kill them how long did the eggs lay there? it shouldent of hurt them if it wasent long the dents could have been from drying out after in the incubator they should have firmed up again after getting moist if not thy probly are bad.
