I had bought a water dragon about 2 weeks ago and he doesnt seem to be doing so well. The lady at the pet store told me he could be lonley because they have been caged up with others so i got another one they are supposedly the same age but the new one looks bigger(fatter healthier) also she had mentioned that she was having problems keeping them alive, is it maybe what shes feeding them??? what should i feed them she just told me crickets but he doesnt look so good help!!!!!. And I have noticed in some of people pics of their dragons they are real pretty bright green mine are a real dark green how do i fix this i would hate to loose them they are both really out going and loving someone please help me!!!

1) I would have them checked by a vet 2) they turn dark in color when getting ready to shed or when they are stressed 3) They do eat crickets, but make sure you dust the crickets 1-2 times a week with calcium dust. They also eat meal worms, super worms, and pinkies. It all depends on how big your dragons are. Small dragons can handle crickets and mealworms.

I would definately get your dragon seen to by a vet. my dragon was exactly the same as yours only 2 weeks ago. we took him to a vet and he's right as rain now. make sure you go to a vet that has experience in water dragons otherwise they'll just say its a calcium deficiency...thats what they always say to us but we found a fantastic vet now. but a vet would be a first port of call.

Agreed a very sound peice of advice I would give anyone is to find a reptile vet ASAP and build a relationship with them BEFORE any dragons get ill. That way you know who to go to if or when they get sick.

Is there a decent web site that lists good reptile vets? I found one link, but the list was 2 or 3 years old.
