I have fed my Lex and Lana Earthworms, and potato bugs (pooly poolies) from outside and they love them.. u know my 2 WD's have eatten spiders and mosquito's (big ugly male ones) i have yet to find something they wont eat.. but i dont really like it when they ate the spider/mosquito. my older CWD has had 1 grub i found.. and i dont think i'd feed him that again.. next day he looked a little green hehe.. now mostly they eat meal worms/crickets.. and occasionally pinkies. p.s i only use the earth worms when i dont have time to get to the pet store and get more normal food for them.. which isnt too often

I'm such a softie though, that would really upset me pulling the hind legs off of a cricket! I feel upset if i even accidentally tread on a snail.... I struggle with the fact that I have to feed them live food. (but i know there is no other option). It makes me feel so sad though cos they're all in a little tub / house and then you put them in the tank and they think they're free and then the get eaten! Pulling their back legs off has gotta hurt?
I'm pathetic i know but it makes me feel sad!

Awww! I definitey can't do it now!!! I couldn't bring myself to do it anyway! I've resorted to putting him in the bottom vivarium (it's in two parts!) to feed him. He finds it loads easier to catch them but he's still really scared of the really big crickets! He won't go near them!! He's such a wuss! I'll do this till he's a bit bigger and a bit faster! He's not a huge fan of the can o' crickets! He will eat them occasionally but not as his main chunk of his diet! Although, he really holds out for his mealworms so I'm gonna have to ween him right off them I think! Orville

Orville how long is your WD... i would think any wd would not b scared of any size of cricket.... my 2 wd's got an Appetite bigger than their mouths... if any food i put in there lasts longer than 10 secs, than there is something wrong with my wd's lol... anythin i drop in there goes in seconds

Hey! He's about 5 months, about 15". I've started feeding him in the bottom section of the vivarium at the moment so he's feeding quite well in there but when I extend the viv hes gonna have to learn to catch them properly!! He gives up fairly easily as well, if he jumps for the cricket and it gets away he wont go back after it again the same day, he just looks at me licking his lips and expects me to just put in a new one! Trust me to pick a lazy dragon!
