I am grateful for the information you have given me, both steven, pooka, daremoalpha and derek. Thanks for trying to help me decide, but i still dont think that am not. I am just too curious. I will give them each 1/2 a pinkie each. Surely this couldnt do any harm whatsoever. Also, does anyone know the difference between a goannas and a beardies digestive system? I havent been told that its bad to feed my ridge-tail monitor a pinkie. And they only grow about 3-4 inches more than a beardie?

All the Goannnas have a digestive system setup for what they eat...meat. Ackies, Argus, Sand Goannas, all of them eat carrion and hunt meat. The beardie is more of an all purpose eater (omnivourous) and will eat both meat and plant matter. Personally I do not see the harm in the occasional pinkie but they could not be a daily offering like you would a monitor, keep in mind though that other very experienced keepers have pointed out that they do not reccomend it. Keep us posted.

I recieved and feed a whole pinkie to the dragons last night. i didnt realise how small they actually were. The male ate his without any hesitation and the female didnt see it as a food item until i dangled it right in front of her face. Both are just as alert as they ever were. They are both the size i would like them to be... well the male just a little bit skinnier than i would like and they has been no changes in colouration. it looks like they have taken them very well

It happens over time... Other ways to fatten up you dragon can include feeding superworms(as treats). Um...silkworms(these are better then crickets) and crickets, and roaches. These all can fatten up your dragon. No they arent going to add weight on as fast as a pinkie would but they are *healthy* and easy to digest. Of course, you dont have to listen to me or trust me, but I'm here to help and thats what I'm trying to do.

I know that, and appreciate everyones opinon on here, as i'm sure everyone that uses this site does aswell. Just sometimes i just would like to experience things for myself and stuff like that.
As for fattening the dragons up.
There is only one store that i know that sells silkies. I dont know any that sell superworms.
Lately with all these new reptiles i have been getting and with the water dragons not eating the crickets that much, i have been giving the beardies about 2 roaches and 10 mealworms every second day for every second fortnight. I just got them a box of large crickets too. So ATM i can feed them crickets, roaches and mealworms.
What do you suggest that i feed them out of this and how much and how often?

If you order your live feeder insects off line in bulks its much cheaper! I get my crickets and supers from www.reptilefood.com and from reptile expos. I havent fed many roaches, once my hissing cockroaches have babies I might give some of them. You can buy the silkies online as well, www.silkiestogo.com and some other ones as well! I wouldnt feed mealworms at all! They are very high in chitin and hard to digest! Not healthy for them what so ever! Let me know what happens!

Yeah, i dont know about those mealworms either. When i first got the beardies, i think i gave them a little too much mealworms and they got sick. Buying stuff online can be costly for me, because most of the places that are online are from overseas. I get mine delivered for free
