Sorry this is a long post but I hope someone will read it all and help me.I hope someone can help me as I have seen several threads about similar problems, but as of yet no idea what the problem actually is. Ketu my 1 year old Chinese Water Dragon was in perfect health, was eating and shedding with no problem at all, the humidity was fine and so was the temperature inside the viv. All of a sudden he started to close his eyes more and more. Now Ketu almost never opens them and when he does only opens his left eye. The colour in the eye when he has opened it seems okay but there is a lot of moisture (I guessed to be expected after having it closed for so long.) I would have taken Ketu straight down the vet but the only reptile vet even remotely close to us is charging an extortionate £78 ($156) just for the first 30min consultation and unfortunately I just don't have the money (otherwise I would pay it in a second). Until i can save enough money to pay this I am having to resort to trying to bolster his immune system (I have had a Sand Iguna before and am trying what I tried with him). I am syringe feeding him nutrient pellets recommended for juvenile CWD's and giving an extra couple of water sprays a day into his viv. I've tried to hand feed Ketu crickets but without the eyes open he doesn't seem to register them (thus the syringe feeding). I am not sure about Ketu's water consumption but his skin colour seems fine so I'm not too concerned. The strangest thing is that Ketu still puts up a little fight when we pick him up and is mobile around his viv, climbing branches and soaking in his water bowl and such. If his eyes were open, you would not think anything was wrong with him. A few answers to questions that I am expecting: Nothing has changed habitat-wise for him, same viv and same setup, he was always eating well and was regularly fed crickets with nutrient suppliment, his viv conditions were optimal including temperature and humidity and he has always had a place to go for a little swim and fully soak himself. Anyway, thank you for reading all this, I will be eagerly awaiting anyones help, and hopefully we can get Ketu through this!
