Im not sure I put this topic in the right place...
I know mine will be a way off, coz hes still shy, but how much should they be eating?
I guess what Im asking is, for their age, what have you guys been feeding your dragons, and how much are they eating?

With mine, they basically eat whenever they are hungry. There is always vegies or roaches available.
But, they should be eating at least BABIES: "live food" twice a day and as much as they can eat in a 10minute period (usually about 20-30 small sized or 15-20 medium sized crickets)
Juvenilles: Same as babies but only once a day
Adults: Same but only once every second to every three days.
Just always leave fresh 'greens' and you shouldnt have a problem
P.S dont forget to supplement thier foods either

Everyones experience is going to vary from dragon to dragon so all we can do is share our own experience. Skittle my 8-9 inch long dragon is eating 2 times a day. At each feeding he is eating on averaged 6 appropriately sized crickets and 2 silkworms for a total of 12 or so crickets and 4 silkworms. This can chnage because I also offer other items like waxworms and mealworms sometimes, but this is what he has been putting away this week. Pooka, my 12+ inch water dragon eats 8-10 appropraietly sized crickets and 2 silkworms per feeding and is feed 2 times per day so she puts away a bit more. When I say appropriatly sized I mean the crickets are as wide and 1/2 the distance between the dragons eyes. All food items are gutloaded on high quality feed items at least 8 hours before offering. Thats what I am looking at this week and that is with skittle being treated for parasites (slows there appetites often) Best of luck

So if you gut load your crickets etc with the right foods, it wouldnt matter so much if they dont eat stuff that doesnt move?

im guessing that you mean vegetables and fruits by saying "things that dont move". These are an important part of a WD's diet. Gut Loading crickets just makes the crickets more healthier for dragons.

Yeah I know they need their fruit and veges, I was just hoping there was a way around trying to get them to eat it. Because their just so fussy.

if you just leave fresh food thier they will eventually eat some, even if isnt a great amount, but they will end up eat mostly vegies.. well aussies will anyway.
Mine eat mostly live food but they still eat a little bit of vegies. You just have to stick to it, and he will be fine

Awol will not eat veggies at all...so I don't even try him on them anymore. Currently since all I have in stock are silkies he gets between 4-8 sinch long worms each feeding and he eats twice a day. Side note: he is over 2 feet long and throws the feed ever couple of days theroy right out the window

I am a bit confused. Walter is a seven month old Aussie Water Dragon. He eats very little compared to the sample diets listed here but is doing well (Spike says he is big at 20") so I am not sure why. He is also banned from live foods (except mealworms and superworms) due to an insect outbreak ending up on my baby girl leaving me with a very angry wife. Walter therefore eats mainly canned crickets (8 or so a day) and a few worms plus a little cat food. Is this OK ?. Are Aussies meant to be given veg ?.
