These were/are my primary source of info outside of written manuels: Tricia's Water Dragon Page: www.icomm.ca/dragon/dragoncr.htmMelissa Kaplans Water Dragon Page: www.anapsid.org/waterdragons.htmlBaby's World members.aol.com/msnick1/waterdragons.htmlI will pin this thread but leave it unlocked so that if you find page that you think stands out and offers accurate info you can add it to this thread. Please serious posts only on this one guys and gals.

On the second website you mentioned, it said you can feed them greens. But the guy at Chicago Reptile House said that wds are completely carnivorous. Should I feed my wd greens?

From what I have found some waterdragons do eat veggies and fruits, I think tricia has a list of what to feed them. I know lettus isnt good for them as it is mostly water. One of the reasons gutfeeding your insects veggies and what not is so the dragons get the nutrienants. Seems like a lot of dragons wont touch veggies/fruits, I know my girls won't

CWD ARE technically omnivores and will/can eat veggies. Their diet (evidently in the wild) is approx. 85% insects and 15% veggies. That said, Christa gets a big DITTO from me on the veggies. Mine WILL NOT eat things that do not move! I have never seen a vegetable yet that crawls fast enough to entice one of my CWD to eat it! LOL I, too, just make sure to gutload my insects well so that the beneficial nutrients are passed on the the dragons during consumption. One of the gals on a different forum flicks frozen peas to her male dragon and he eats them. She also gives them banana bites and some of the veggies that her beardies eat. Since your dragon is already 3 years old her eating habits are probably established. Just try her on a few things and see how she responds. I have heard that you can sometimes be more successful with fruits-kiwi, strawberries, rasberries(sic?) You were SO lucky to find a 3 year old! I hope you enjoy her tremendously!

Zippy... I will list some of the veggies I know off the top of my head that are ok Carrots, peas, collard greens, turnip greens, kale, green beans, parsnips, dandylion leaves and dandylion flowers.
I have tried different veggies with my wd's and have not had any luck, they just dry out in the bowl. I think I recall reading somewhere that juvies are less likely to eat veggies and fruits then an adult.
dragos mom... that is too funny about that gal on the other forum flickin peas at her wd. Iwill definitly have to try that.
