Hi, I am the new mom to a sweet little dragon named Liz Foo Yung. He/she was actually a gift and I don't think the giver realized that they can get to 3 feet. The pet store didn't even have them listed as CWD's so i have had to do research so I can give her the best care possible.Sites like this are great-so much info(much more than the staff at the pet store gives ) They didn't even have a care sheet for her and gave out a sheet for an anole instead. I'm really excited about my new friend and would like to give her the best life possible. A question:Should I sterilize a climbing branch bought from a pet store?

Welcome to the site!! Glad you are here and I hope you have great time! Congrats on your dragon and I look forward to seeing pics of him! Yeah, not many people at all have had good luck with petstores, thats why I always recommend buying from a breeder at an expo or online, people at petstores just don't care You shouldn't have to sterilize the branch, but since it sits in the petstore on the shelf where other animals go you might just want to soak it in hot water and a tiny bit of bleach.

Welcome to GD, glad to have you aboard. I sterilize everything the first time I bring it home. I am not so meticoulous about it after that (except for when the vet told me to sterilze the cage after treating for parasites) now that both my dragons are parasite free I wash items in hot water and thats about it. Feel free to browser for info and ask question, you should find alot of info here that isn't found elsehwere. again, welcome.
