I would like to see a section that has a listing or link of toxic and non-toxic plants. The pic of Figment is so darn cute but if that is a real pine tree it is also toxic. I would just like to make sure that everyone knows what they can put in an enclosure or even if they let their reptiles free roam what they should or shouldn't be getting into. It could go anywhere since it is going to relate to all species of reptiles. Just a thought.

I also have a list but I know there are people out there who don't realize this when buying plants and don't have a complete listing.

I agree thats the same thing that came to mind when I saw figments picture. Do you think this is something we could cover in a links page or do you think we should cover this somewhere else? Suggestions welcomed.

I think it could be covered in a links page. There are a couple out there. I actually have a couple printed out because I didn't seem to find one "complete" list but I think just the different links would be a great start. JMO.

to get an accurate and quick call on what the planst are you may have to take them to a local plant shop they should be able to indetify them. I have not found a site that is very useful in identifying planst as of yet. I think a 'helpful link' page is our ticket. I can publish a page and provide webspace but I would like some address and suggested content from all of you. could you please post with the address to the page and the relevance it has to our hobby on this thread? I will take those posts and filter them then make a page. It may take a while but at least it will be done for future members.

lllreptile.com/info/library/general-care-and-husbandry/-/list-of-nontoxic-plants-for-your-terrarium/This is the plant list that I have bookmarked for people who need help. As Char mentioned, there are several different lists out there. Since CWD do not actually eat plants (like Igg's do) I am not as concerned about them actually eating plant material, but several of the "sappy" trees (pines, cedars, etc.) contain terpenes which are aromatic and contact with the sap may be harmful. The vapors from the terpene may also be harmful if inhaled. (Don't know about that). Christa, post a pic of the new viv, again and let us look at the plants. We can probably identify a lot of them by looking. I do know that Scheffelerra (sic) are on the no list and are readily available at most plant stores and are of the a size that would fit in a viv for climbing. They have 5 sided leaves and are sometimes called an umbrella plant.

Be careful. I have heard of CWD eating plants (especially flower parts) and they one had gotten quite sick from it. It's best to always be safe than sorry.
