I think an IRC channel would be really usefull. =D
But I don't know if there are enough active members for it to accaully have an effect.

Activity levels have been way down here on GD since about Novemeber. We have tried the live chat route in the past with little success, although there are several non GD chats I can vouch for If the community at large would like a chat and we can get the support I could see about setting one up, but if the support isn't there resources could be better spent elsewhere.
