Hiya, To get this forum rolling I wanted to post a tid-bit of info about my newest family member... Pooka. Pooka is, as you can see, a Chinese Water Dragon. Pooka enjoys jumping on furniture and climbing anything you can get her claws on in the closet (Especially shoes). As far as I can tell Pooks is probably about 2 to 2 and 1/2 months old. She was 7 inches snout to tail length when we got her about 4 and 1/2 weeks ago. She is 8 inches now and her head is takeing on a noticeably more box like shape in the jowls. She is 100% brat and we love her ;D

Pooka I remember you saying somewhere that you got Pooka from PetCo. Is the PetCo near you take care of their animals well and are they healthy?

The PetCo near me takes care of their animals terribly. I would always find dead animals in the cages. It really made me mad.

Yes I got Pooka from a local Petco. She looked really good when I made the purchase but got ill several days later. I am certainly in no position to say wether or not Petco takes care of there animals as I have never seen any abuse or dead animals. I think the parasites and infections Pooka had were likly a direct result of being wild caught and stress related not so much Petcos fault as the distributors. I would certainly purchase from them again just for the fact (if for no other reason) that I like to hand pick my animals for personality unless I can get captive bred.

For $25 it sure would be a steal for her to be captive bred. Yes with her coming from petco it is VERY likely she is wildcaught. Luckily she is "established" now which means she is some what tame around people and has a clean bill of health going forward.

Yes that would be a steal. I got Jade for $60.00 from a local petsmart. I went to about every pet store within a 2 hour driving distance to try and find a cwd with a good personality and i ended up with Jade who was 10 minutes away the whole time! lol

You went through that search going to some stores that were 2 hours away when Jade was only 10 minutes away. You must've regretted going to the stores 2 hours away.

I had to order Avanyu and Tripod from a reptile guy in Florida. he shipped them to me via UPS. I did get Drago from our local pet center, but they have never had another one since.

The pet store I work for usually has CWD's all the time. They buy them from a distributer by the name of APet Inc. out of Chicago. Not sure if they are wild caught or not, but for the price, I'm sure they are. I believe they sell for around $20.00. Iggy's, BD's and CWD's are three reptiles that can be found there almost any day of the week.
