This is our new addition that is sleeping on my husbands head. We were at a petstore yesterday and we have been looking for a female water dragon. By guessing, this one looks to be female. Even though she has lost part of her tail, we think she is a cutie. She is also very sweet and calm. We do need a name for her so can anyone list some female or uni-sex names?

Cute little thing, she looks rather "thick". I like the name Tiamat or Tiamae (pronounced Tia-may) as a name for a female dragon.

That is really pretty. Do you know where it came from or what it means?

Yes, the orginal form is pronounced 'TIE-A-MAHT' and is a babylonian goddess. She is a mother goddess and personifiys the sea. Her form is usually shown as the form of a huge dragon. In popular culture she is a multi headed dragon like a hydra that is usually considered the queen of dragons. This was the name I wanted to name Pooka but we decided to go with Pooka since she was more troublesome then queenly I like the spelling of Tiamat but the sound of Tiamae. Here is a link to the orgins of the name. www.behindthename.com/php/search.php?terms=tiamat&nmd=n&gender=both&operator=or
