77-81 is what the coolest area of my viv is at during the day. Pooka often seems to prefer this area after sucking up to the basking lamp for a little while. I would say that temp is fine so long as the gradient builds to 90-94 or so under the heat lamp but that my opinion and what has worked for me and pooka so far.

Supposedly you can back off on the temps about 5-10F for "winter" to emulate their S.E. Asian environment. My taller viv has temps in the 70-75F range at the bottom and 85-88F in the middel where the basking branches are. If they climb all the way to the top of the 2 tallest branches they get 90F, but they don't really spend a lot of time there. Humidity guages and thermometers are some of the cheapest items in your cage but they are pretty important. I have digital in my new cage but I used the cheaper guages in my aquarium and found them reliable. My daughter is still using them in my old viv at her house!

I thought that was the right temp. range. She does sit under the lamp with her mouth open.

Hello, I took Puffy to the vet today about 9am. The vet said it looked like Puffy banged into the glass and there was nothing broken and no mouth rot. She said I had to hand feed her for a couple days and let her know how she was doing. Puffy died at 7pm I will call the vet tomorrow and tell her what happen. She was a cute little baby. Barbara

Puffy was CB. She didn't eat for a couple days, so maybe she starved. I couldn't gat a vet appointment right away. Barbara

I was hoping that it was a wild caught baby, because it distresses me too much when we lose a CB baby. They usually have a better shot. Without a necropsy I suppose we'll never know why but I am awfully sad today.
