I took Jade to the vet today for a checkup and investigation into the possible mouthrot. The vet said that she looked good overall and gave her an injection of Baytril (enroflotacin) antibiotics for the mouthrot and gave me some betadine for home medication. The vet also confirmed my suspicions that Jade is in fact, a female. Thanks for all your help guys.

Good job on catching the mouth rot in time! Mouth rot can be scarry & fatal if not caught in time! Jade is fortunate to have such a loving attentive parent!!
Give her a stroke under the chin for me & Happy Holidays to you both!!
Zeke says 'hi Jade, glad you are feeling better'!

Hahaha a stroke under the chin, sorry to laugh but if I tried that with AWOL he would bite me he likes having his back rubs while I pour water on him from a coke bottle with about 20 holes popped into the lid. Great to hear the vet visit went good for you, I am still looking for a good vet here in Calgary but there seems to be a shortage of good herp vets here.

Great news about the vet report and thanks for posting what he suggested you do and what meds he gave. Glad the mouthrot was minimal; the baytril should clear that up quickly! Do you use the betadine full strength on her gums?

Do you use the betadine full strength on her gums? No, He said to dilute it with water to about the color of tea.

I had put a dilution of 50 parts water to 1 part betadine in my record book and that is the equivalent of what the vet suggested. That is also used for a full body (except head) soak for dermal abrasions and mites. Betadine is good stuff.
