Our water dragon Liten Bryte(the one with the broken tail) is now missing a small piece of her upper lip and the thing is, I don’t understand how it happened. She barely had nose rub when we first got her and that went away. Everyday, I take them out one by one to hold them and let them walk around the room and her mouth was fine. It seems like this happened over night. Yesterday, I went to take her out and when I saw her, I wanted to cry. The weird thing is, it is pretty much healed already and it does not affect her in any way. She is still active and still eats with no problems. I just wish I knew what happened. It makes me feel like I’m a bad water dragon owner.

Do you think maybe she caught it on something in the viv? I've never heard of anything like that happening to anyone else. But you know how they jump around. It's a miracle mine haven't impaled themselves on a tree branch or something. So sorry to hear about it. I hope it heals well. Break out the peroxide and neosporin and look around your viv for something sharp.

She might have caught it on something. I'm trying to figure out what though. All that is in our cage is bark substrate, fake tree with vines, fake plants, and thier pool.

yeah. I'm glad I didn't lose her to. I'm also happy to see that it has not affected her eating and it seems to be healing just fine.

These maniacs of mine think nothing of jumping 2-3 feet. The NOISE they make when they land makes you think they HAVE to be dead! My GRANDKIDS don't make that much noise! I wrapped thick, hemp-like rope around all of my tree branches to give the idiots something to grasp in case they lose their footing (which is OFTEN). It seems to have helped. They're getting so big, I'm going to Lowe's to get more. Their vines are becoming to small in diameter to support Avanyu comfortably.

I love the idea about putting the rope around the branches. Seems like it would work wonders on sturdiness! Also I think it would make it look neat. (Im always trying to think of new diff lil things I can do.) Thanks for the tip.

I went to Lowe's last night and bought 3 -6' lengths of rope and took them home and braided them together. I then warpped the ends with jute nad made a jute loop in the end of each. I will use "S" hooks to hang the rope this evening from my hardware cloth. First I'm going to go by the fabric store and pick up some silk pothos to wrap around the rope (to make it look better in the viv). I'm starting to spend as much money on the lizards as I do on the grandchildren!
