Mites??

Ok, I saw a little white bug in the incubator soil. I looked in google for pictures of mites, and they all looked black. Most of the pictures I found were microscope pics and looked weird. Could it be mites? I bought potting soil to use for the incubator and the egg laying bin. Could mites come from that? If it is mites, how do I get rid of them? All I know about mites is that they are a bug and they are bad. Please help!!

Without any kind of pictures of what you have all people can do is guess...
Might also be fruitflys, I know they are tiny and white.
Did you bake your dirt before using it like alot of people suggest?

They don't fly, so I don't think it's fruit flies. I only saw whatever it was for a breif second and haven't seen it since. And no, I didn't bake the dirt. Guess I should've. I didn't think about it. If it is mites, does anyone know what they do? How they multiply? How they could hurt the dragons?[/font][/b]

I went to a pet shop today. I asked about mites. The chick told me they are black or red. I said alright, this thing was white. And she said it could be a new hatchling. I was like alright. She asked how big it was, ans I was like "it's really small. I only saw it once cause it popped up and ran, then down under, it moved so fast I bearly got a look." And she said it's probably not mites because mites move really slow, but she said to keep an eye out since I know I saw SOMETHING. She said to check all the flaps on the dragons, like their necks and genitle area. So I will keep looking.

I had some little tiny almost microscopic bugs when I put a plant in with the girls, can't tell what color they were to small and quick to tell really. Anywho I changed the dirt and used topsoil they say potting soil is bad for dragons it has fertilizers and such in it. Dirt dirt as I call it or I guess it really is top soil is good. I have a big tub (mixed with peat moss) full with plants in it, (you can see part of it in the picture I posted under chinese water dragons-another update on the girls and where's Waldo) I just squished the ones I could and washed down the enclosure a few times now they are gone. Never did bother the dragons.

Any chance they are tiny, tiny crix? Crix start off so small they are almost invisible. Within a few days, as they start to grow a little you can begin to recognize that they are crix. I, also, thought I had some alien lice or mite until they got larger.
