I am very new to owing a Bearded Dragon. I have had my male dragon about a week. I was told he was around two years old. My question is this.... I've noticed twice now that what appears to be 'stool' is in his cage. The object is about the size of a small dog stool, so this puzzles me very much. Could he have regurgitated crickets, instead? I took one apart and it appeared there were cricket parts in it. Other than that, he seems to be doing well. Any advice would be much appreciated. I have many more questions about my dragon, but will start with this so as not to fill up the website! Thanks so much....

Well they have to get rid of it somehow buddy hehehe I am betting the criket body parts you found were just exoskeleton type stuff that may have just not been digested. I have seen that other reptiles have stuff like mouse bones in their stool samples too as they are just not broken down in the stomach. I don't think you have anything to worry about

True Dare what isn't digested is just run thru the system per say. People find extoskeleton parts from all kinds of worms and bugs in the stool. Seeing as worms and most bugs I believe where there bones on the outside they don't digest well so they have to go somewhere, actually JMO but seems like a good thing to find at least the stuff isn't getting stuck inside there systems

Here is a related question can a reptile vomite?? Not just hack up something stuck in its throat or mouth but actually vomit??? I know mine at least Circe the basilisk can spit a bug out faster than light speed and a good distance too. I've been told critters like rats can't vomit that is why rat poison works so well on them, nor do I believe birds can either though thats just my impression can't state it as fact anyone know???

I was concerned because I was told the stools are very tiny, so when I saw this large 'thing' I became alarmed. The pet store told me the stools were either white or brown pellet like. hmm...Thanks to all who replied. I have so much to learn about my dragon, but he's a real sweetie!

Pooka can leave a pretty healthy sized pile lying around some days. You may just wanna watch for your dragon to defecate and compare sizes. If you rdragons feces does not bear any resemblance to the piles you are finding vomit. Vomit is usually caused by over eating or low temps (indigestion) and yes they can vomit from the accounts I have read in various places but it is rare.
