Hello, my cwd is probably about 10-12 months old. He started to shed a couple of days ago. He has been sitting in his waterfall with his mouth open for about an hour now. I tried picking him up, which he loves to be held and played with, but he did not want to be picked up. I looked at him for awhile and then he started to like spitup all this clear bubbly stuff, i swabbed it with a q-tip and it was really thin like water, kinda gooy though like human saliva. there was quite a bit of it and now he is breathing kind of hard and opens his mouth every once in a while. weird huh?

Sounds serious, actually these are the symptoms that are displayed when choking. Has this been happening for more then 1 day or was/is it a sudden occurecen? A sudden appearance would be indicative of some kind of gag reflex, if its been coming on then it may be some sort of infection such as mouthrot or a respriatory infection as both of those can cause unusual mucus secretions. Let us know if its still going on and more details, I hope all is ok.

Well, it has been a couple of days and scrappy seems fine. This "drooling" thing hasn't happened since. It only happened that one time. I think he just might of drank too much water. He had his head submerged in his water fall for like 15 minutes and I could see he was drinkin the whole time. The day all this occured he was not very active and did not want to be held. Now hes back to playing and dive bombing crickets from the top of his terarium. He's almost done shedding and his neck has hints of bright blue and orange on it. He or She is gonna be sweet looking when he gets older.

Hey, i wish i could have posted earlier. My last water dragon did that, and like you said it was a few seconds after she drank alot of water, she just hopped out of the water and started breathing out bubbles.Just like yours mine was breathing hard afterwards, but soon after it was back to climbing around its waterfall. ohh and nice pic, really good color. Good luck with Scrappy
