Normally Tucker starts his shed and is done within a week. However, this last shed has been odd. He started about a week and a half ago and still had alot of dead skin on him. I put him in the tub for 1/2 hour and rubbed him gently to get most of the skin off. He has a little left, but the majority is off.
So what could have caused this? I put him in the bath twice a week and he has the proper humidity. His diet hasn't changed. However, I have been working alot of hours lately, so he hasn't been able to come out everyday. Anyone think this had anything to do with it?

In my experience sheds will differ from time to time. Pooka and Skittle will both have times when the shed is almost a single sheet and comes right off with minimal effort and other times it will be patchy and I will have to soak and rub them a bit to help. Sometimes the shed will be a whole body shed and leave them all green and other times it will only be an arm, or a leg, or just a few spikes or just the tail or a combo, it all changes each time. I think as long as you are providing fresh air, good humidity and a soaking source you should be fine. If you see an extreme skin discoloration or blemishes worry then.

My dragon "twig" is having an odd shed. Twig is about 13 inches long, I'm not sure how old. Twigs shed skin is like redish brown and came off on his tail and head and it has been more than a week and his body still hasn't shed. -nic

Skittle is doing the same thing right now also, he has a red/brown patch that has failed to shed that covers his tail base and one whole side, the rest of him has shed. I wonder if perhaps its a seasonal thing....?
