Hey every-one, my lizard has a wierd habit, and he is a dark(ish) brown color, the humidity in the cage is fine, he eats all the time with no problem he even willingly eats fruits and veggies, but he seems to have problems shedding and when he does shed, he just steds off little pieces.
Next thing... i dont think he can breath through his nose anymore. when he runs around he has to stop and take deap breaths with his mouth open. I was thinking mabe because his shedding problem, maybe he hasnt shed the skin around his nose and its preventing him from breathing...
I really want to take him to the vet, just to so he can get a "check up", but it seams my parents dont think its worth going to the vet untill its sick, and i dont think we have any reptile vets around where i live, if anyone knows how to find out if there is please tell me.
I want ot have a pretty green dragon like pooka and dragosmom. I want mine to have a picture on the top of the page one day!

When my water dragon, Mr. Lizard, sheds around his face and head, I sometimes have to clear the skin from his nostrils. You should be able to see in the nostril. When I first got him I didn't know that his nose was plugged so he was breathing through his mouth. Then I cleared the dead skin from his nostrils and he was able to breathe through the nose.
If you can't see in the nostrils, try to wipe around the area with a warm Q-tip to remove any dead skin inside.
Good luck.

Thanks for the compliment on my babies, they are quite spoiled Gaping mouths are always a concern, they could be somthing as simple as a plugged nostril or angry dragon or somthing as scary as a respiratory issue. Personally I'd much rather spend a little cash every so often on the vet preventing sickness rather then a lot of cash at one time to cure somthing that got out of hand. I hope the nostril issue was all it was and your baby is doing better now.
