hello everyone i just got a baby CWD about a week and half ago and love her to death! ( wife ready to kill me lol i spend so much time with the dragon and making sure everything is good. I do have a quik question. I was recently using indoor/outdoor carpet as sub but was having very hard time keeping the humidity up. so i switched to soil and it seems to be helping. (at least a little bit) Was this a bad idea? I do hand feed her out of the cage or i leave food in a see thru bowl so there is no accidental swallowing of soil. I realy want to take some pics of her (she so cute) and get them on the site.

I believe you took all the precaution you needed with having soil as substrate, so there is no danger for your water dragon. You just have to feed her outside, or to let the food in a bowl. The second option is better though, because you dont have to be there all the time and you can watch closely on what see eats and how much. I do this with my big water dragon, even though there are almost no risks of swallowing substrate. I can't wait to see her

I personally recommend the repticarpet until your dragon is about a year old. Have you considered an ultra-sonic cool mist humidifier? Or adding a larger water container, waterfall, fogger or live plants? All of these would help with your humidity levels.
