Is there any way you can take a picture? All you have to do is sign up for photobucket.com for free and post the picture. When the picture is on photobucket. The last URL is the one you want to copy and paste in the message box. I actually have to make sure of what it is before giving any advice.

It might be a gippsland water dragon. In the USA and Canada etc. They only breed and privately keep the Eastern Water Dragon (p.leuseurii.leuseurii) but there is another sub-species that is found in the south-eastern parts of NSW and eastern parts of Victoria in Australia. (p.leuseurii howitii). They are a more dull colour compared to the easterns, but the markings are generally the same. I would say it is a water dragon, but depending on which country you live in, it could be either. If in any country other than Australia, i'd say eastern water dragon, but i could be wrong. As skjohnnet said, we'll need to see pictures first

d**n, I was going to try and help and thought I knew what it was at first, but this new description wouldn't go along with one of the blue color morphs of Chinese water dragons that Sapphire Dragons has... Sure ace13 isn't right about it being a collard lizard?

;D thank you for all the interest peeps. i now know that this is a collard lizard from the u.s.a. bristol zoo were diamonds. i have been unable to get my pics onto this forum, i need to be more in tune with this computer. greatly relieved that, although eddie(the name my daughter has decided on), has not been living in optimum conditions. we have done him no ill. greatly stressed that., i now need bigger everything.... wish i hadn't got rid of my 6ft fish tank..doh!!!!!!!! if any one would like the bible of american collard lizards, i can manage to forward it via e-mail,though i find a chisel and stone slab are much quicker.......... ttfn wurzel
