hi, does anyone have a picture of themselves with an adult awd. I would like to see a size reference of an adult before I actually go through and buy one, thanks.

Thanks dragosmom for replying. I looked at the link, but I couldn't see the picture. I tried reloading it several times, but I couldn't see it.

Sorry, Patrick must have removed the picture. It was an awesome specimen AND huge. I reckon she weighed 5-10 lbs.

I know. I have a 1 1/2 lb. Chinese male, but this dragon looked like it took up an entire aquarium and it wasn't a small aquarium. Pooka knows Patrick, maybe he can re-post the picture for you!

thanks! I'd really love to see the pic, it sounds neat. besides, I'm a full believer in knowing all extremes of what you're getting BEFORE purchase.

Unfortunately i don't have a picture of a fully grown aussie on hand. Did you try searching images on google. for better search results, go to www.google.com.au, click australian sites only (or something similar to that), type in either the common name 'Eastern Water Dragon' or type in 'Physignathus Leseurii Leseurii', if the spelling is wrong, it should come up on google what the right one is. Put the little talking mark things in also in when you type it in google

Looks like Patricks sight doesn't have the pic anymore either. Spike had an excellent suggestion of doing an google image search. In just about 2 seconds I got this excellent pick from a picture hostingn sight. This specimen looks like a mature female to me. AWDS get about the same size as a water dragon although it seems they 'fill in' a bit more and are pound for pound thicker then a CWD. This means you are looking at about 24 inches or so for a female and 36 inches for a male total length. For a size reference for a full gorwn male CWD look here at my friend bobo he is a beast: www.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/192612/2/istockphoto_192612_water_dragon_2.jpg

yea, i've done a lot of google searches, and seen many pics of the adults, but they're always just in the grass, or on a log or something, so it's hard to get a feel for their true size. I was wondering more towards weight in pounds.

Dear Shortmander. Go the Agama International website. There is a picture of a lady with a full grown Aussie in her arms (and a man with aTegu). It gives you a good feel for scale. Hope that helps.
