hi, i currently own a juvenile EWD(i think its juvenile..its small) anyway, i was wandering if it would be ok to mix your water dragon with a bearded dragon? the vivarium is huge for their age (4 across, 3 in width and height) but my main conern is whether WD tolerate Beardies? i want a beardie because i hear they are very fond of humans and my WD seems lonely.

i'm still new to the lizzard scene, but i think they could get along, but i thought bearded dragons were more of a desert climate and water dragons are more of a tropical climate.. im not sure how their viv's would co-exist together. A neighbor of mine has a bearded dragon and she does say they love ppl.. just sits on her for long time . 1 out of my 2 water dragons is like that as well. maybie one day ill see if my wd gets along with my neighbour's bearded.. heh kinda like a playdate

well my Viv set up is crushed chestnut shells for the bottom (those really fine crushed ones) and logs and tree branches with a little bit of green and water tub on the left, so its kinda an oasis in the desert kinda theme , i saw a beardie and..OH MY GOD theyre adorable! i love my WD too just he is very skitish and i respect his privacy so i handle him for about 20 mins every 2 days, where i hear a beardie just loves humans..0_0

I replied to the other half of this thread. I'm of a mind to suggest an even larger setup if your to mix them, also consider dumping the crushed walnut, its like razor blades on a reptiles guts if they ingets any. A sandy colored reptile carpet or just plain grated dirt from your local grasslands is much preferable and should prove just as attractive.

ok, changed the walnut sands for shreded wood paper thingo, and yah i decided to just get a second vivarium, smaller but should be big enough since i plan on letting my beardie (depending on personality) just live in the house once he is tamed anuff and know where everything is!
ty for responses!
