Hi, I'll be honest. I have not seriously applied myself to this search as of yet. I just wanted to see if anyone was a resident expert here. I want to know about the Black Throat Monitor. So, if you know any handy dandy sites to find info, or you have info on them please share that with me in this thread. I do not need info on the Savannah Monitor or opinions on why I should choose X-species of Monitor over the Black Throat. Thanks for any info you share

From what I have been able to track down they are a rather hardy and foregiving species especially compared to a water dragon. I am strongly considering getting one as I have met one at our local reptile shop who just floors me with his personality. They are beautiful creatures and so smart and quirky. The only draw back is some of them demand live food (baby chicks and small mice) which could become a point of controversy at my home in a real hurry. I guess I'll just have to do the research present the facts and see where it goes from there.... I have some time seeing as all my income is tied up well into mid january.

I don't know anything about them either, but I think someone on reptile rooms did.

I think Kamikaze on Reptile rooms knows quite a bit about them. I have been studying some books on them lately and now am looking for up to date pricing info... guess what... I can't find them online anymore. Will the searches never end?
