I have a question on just what veggie fruit type thing I should be giving to Circe my basilisk, seeing as the water dragons don't eat veggie fruits I'm not sure just what all to put in for her.

I will look into it a bit more but if I am recalling right there diet should be the same as a water dragons. Of course you and I both know that tastes change from personality to personality but Circe should be eating fruits and veges (even if she will only eat them when they are inside her crickets ) But I will look online some more this week and get back with ya if I find anything contradictory.

Thank you, as i figure you know seeing as I jabber on about everthing with my girls my feeder insects eat better than I do. Neither Cronus nor Perseus will touch a veggie/fruit They seem to consider an offer of a veggie as torcher tandemount to consontration camp treatment. Excuse the spelling I'm old. Hopefully Circe will be a bit more into the veggie thing

Hi WDM ;D So far aside from my books the best place I have found online for basilisk info is repticzone.com. They have some knowledgeable people on there forum. I am not a member for the simple reason that I hate there software interface but I browse often. Check it out.

WD's & Basilisks don't "require" veggies, but if you offer them when they are little, they get used to them. Veggies are good for them, but like I said, not required. I started offering a few veggies to Zeke when I first got him as a hatchling & he will eat, squash, zuccini, carrot & a little bit of greens. I cut the squash, zuccini & carrot into long, thin peices (I believe it's called julienne?) anyway, they look like mealies this way & he chomps them down!

I have heard from 2 or 3 different people that this method outlined here works really well with a vibrateing food dish. Dragons are much more visual hunters (thus the large eyes) then scent hunters (notice no flicking tongue) so the motion will attract them. Just a thought... ...
