Yea the people I got him from were feeding him lots of carrots, grapes, and kale like the pet store said and he was really fat now i only feed him right and once every other day and he lost all the extra fat. Thats why a lot of tortoises don't live as long as they could because they feed and do what the pet store says.

If fat is like hanging out of their shell near the opening were the legs and arms are. If i can find a pic i'll send you one.

ok i would appresheate it. cous pulls its head/legs in and hides from me lol my mom it sits there but me it hids 70% of the time but then some times he lets me pet his head. do you do a "turtle wax" ? what do you use? the pet store toled us to use some kind of oil i think i dont know i would have to look

I didn't really undestand what you said i think you said that he hides a lot. Well i had the same problem with mine, but then every day i would hand feed him some hay or lettuce and every 2 days i wauld giv him a small treat and now he rarley hides.

:(Sorry I can't find a pic of an obese tortoise any were, but if your ha lots of fat hanging or sticking out from under the shell then your tortoise is fat if there is just a little then he is fine.

its not he hides alot its he does it with me lol but thats because i barly mess with him as hes my moms and i have all my reptiles but when i do half the time he hides from me the other half he lets me rub his head I didn't really undestand what you said i think you said that he hides a lot.
