Dori laid her first clutch!!! Ok well, Dori has been acting rather odd for the last week. And Oscar (female) was being aggressive towards her for some reason. Well, tonight I went in to replace their water, and saw that the dirt in the egg bin had been disrupted. I checked out Dori and saw she had sagging skin. So, out came the egg laying bin and I discovered 7 eggs! One of them was laid standing straight on end. I don't know what to make of that when moving it over to the incubator. I tried to keep it straight on end, but lay it on the dominant looking side at the same time. We will see what happens. They are safely residing in the incubator along with Oscar's eggs - 15 eggs total. I know which ones are which. I think Dori's eggs were slightly larger than Oscar's eggs.
As far as Oscar's eggs go, I knew when I dug them up that one of them most likely wouldn't make it. It looks like it's on its way dying. I am giving it a couple more days to make sure. Another one looks as though it won't make it as well. This sure is tricky business! That, or I am just an idiot.
Well, here are some pics!!!
First sight of eggs:
Looks like we have seven eggs!!!
