Does anyone have a reptaruim? Is it a good cage? I thought about a 175 with the plastic on three sides. I thought it would keep the humidity up some. do you lay it on its side to make it long or keep it tall? I was worried that it would be hard to get it hot if it was do tall.I am kind of torn on whether to go with glass, laminate, or the mesh. I want something that is low maintance and won't make him get snout damage.

I would definitely keep it tall. CWD are arboreal and love height, so string some inter-twining branches, ropes, vines etc. all the way to the top (except close to the heat sources). These dragons are fearless and LOVE to jump from branch to vine, etc. Give them plenty of things that criss cross and crossover each other. It keeps them from jumping 3 or 4 feet (hopefully). You can literally HEAR mine as they crash around like monkeys jumping after bugs (and each other).

I did not know that they were so active. What do you think about the mesh?

We have an all screen cage and it works just fine, but if you do not have time to mist it about 4 times a day, I would suggest a mister on a timer. It is harder to keep the humidity up in an all screen cage. Putting plastic on it would help keep the humidity up and you would most likely only have to mist up to 3 times a day.

The mesh gives them additional "running" space-LOL. Although I have read posts that said that the mesh sometimes causes toe/nail loss, but I don't have any actual experience with reptariums. As they grow, they become VERY active. The activity of my group has increased very much this year, at approx. 2 yrs. of age. It's not constant, they still bask/sleep a lot, but they are much more active than when they were smaller.

That sounds great to watch. I think the reptariums are cheaper than the. for the cage by design. Not as pretty but functional. I have time to mist and I will look into the timer on the mister. I have seen misters but not one that would turn on and off. I would like to have that now for the cage he currently has. Are they for sale on the internet? Do you know of some good reptile shopping areas? I am so exited to get his home ready.
