In pet stores they tend to be rather crazy because they feel safer in numbers and that radical behavior is their defense they only have so far to run... I am not saying an iguana is a good reptile for children by no means... I am actually an advocate for something more like a bearded dragon or something when you are puchasing for a child... Iguanas can be tempermental my Little Foot I would never let my 2 year old hold her she is still a little tail whipping happy, I have however let her pet and hold Calisto who is about 5 years old... So it is the temperment of the animal... I am sure some igs that come to pet stores are either farmed iggys or wild caught which certainly helps nothing... Just as with any other reptile they are skittish and such till they are tamed and trust you more... I was just saying that their actions in the pet store are not always the same actions you would have at home... These two little ones will still scramble around the tank but they are ok once I have them in hand... They just need to behandled and tamed as with any reptile...
