Elizabeth, you have done a fantastic job getting these two back in shape!! They really look good! It looks like they have healthy appetites!
Best of luck! I am just in awe that you can do something so wonderful for these poor creatures. People don't realize that they depend on us to take care of them. They aren't just entertainment!

Absolutely gorgeous animals Elizabeth! Great work with these 2. You also say you are looking for a home for them to be adopted into?

Basically they just really needed their diet updated and that has done them a world of good they are filling out... Their tails are growing back nicely and a lot of their growing energy goes into that... But yeah it is nice to see them looking healthier... They are active little ones!! ;D

You mentioned diet... how much were they eating before?

well with an iguana there is no such thing as over feeding them when I say diet I mean overall consitency of what they were eating not quantity....
they went from lettuce and such type items to collards and squashes etc from the basic iggy diets you can find listed on numerous sites
I am not sure what quantities they were fed before now they are just fed better quality foods and they tend to clean their bowls every day... (I do hang out to be sure it is not just one or the other pigging it down but that they both are eating...)

NO NO NO Iguanas are strictly herbivores they eat veggies greens, squashes, fruits etc... but protein like insects and meats can give them serious kidney problems... I know some say that they give their iggys animal protein to help their growth rate but it is a definate NO NO and it can shorten their life span!!

Aw! I would love to have an iguana! Actually when I got my waterdragons I intially went to get an iguana but then seen how they whiped their tails and thought they would not be the right lizard for us.(since I have a 3yr old lil boy that holds our animals) The ones I seen were just lil tiny things and left welts on the girl at the petshops arm. I would love to have one tho. I wish my waterdragons ate what an iguana does. Keep up the great rescuing work elizabeth.

That picture is adorable ;D
Seriosuly though... I have seen very few small igs kept in the local pet shops that were all crazy and all over the place. However, the few I have seen definitley make a case for caution with small children. Is the violent outbursting in some young igs a direct result of personality, abuse, or just plan fear?
