Hi Patrick! Glad to see you again, its been quite some time. Your timing is impeccable though. My girlfriend and I are considering adopting a 4 year old female iguana from our local reptile specialty store. She has some old scars and a regenerated tail so she is not the shiny-new and perfect like some of the younger animals, but she has a very sweet personality. We have visited her 3 times in the past few days. I'm going hit up your forum for info and support but wanted to let you know I am seriously considering joining the ranks of the iguana owned.

Hey Kiley I am glad you are considering it. But there is some thing you have to watch when getting one from a pet store at that age. The heat and UV that may be the reason it may be docile the iguana does not have enough heat or UV on the girl or it could be sick. The first thing I would do is have a good reptile vet take a look at the girl and go from there, there is a couple of sites to check out to. If you go my site you will find the important sites to read up on and some great UV site. Another thing you have to consider is are you going to be able to afford an iguana, the habitat and the vet bills light bills gas bill, in case something happens. I have found most iguanas that are adopted or have been purchase in pet stores at an adult age in the long run will have some problems as they get older not in all cases but in some cases so that is another thing you have to be prepared for. Will I am not trying to talk you out of the iguana. Heck us iguana people need more Good Care Takers. These are the things you have to consider when you’re getting these guys. And by the way you take care of your dragons I think you would make a great iguana person! Here is my website with all the major links on it I would read up first on what it takes to take care of them and what they will need! Patrick's Iguana SitePatrick
