Poor girls are starting to hate the camera, specially Circe she does her vanishing act the min she sees it. None the less I still got a few here today so am posting them. Sorry they aren't the clearest I'm not much on picture taking and they are taken thru the glass, if I open the door Poof they are gone.
Anywho first one is very blurry but Circe is just to cute playin peekaboo so I'm posting it

Next we got Circe and Perseus in their new dirt area

Then last but surely not least is Cronus doing her I got an attitude I'm just too kewl look

Nice pics! One of the guys on repticzone got a basilisk and his is just like yours-as soon as he comes into his room it runs to hide! LOL Do you think it will ALWAYS be that way? Are basilisks just more private? Your gang is looking gooood!

Actually Circe is getting better at not running the min she sees someone. Tho from what I can tell Basilisk aren't as owner (aka faithful servant) friendly as dragons. Not much on the being petted thing. I can pick her up if she is where I can catch her (not one to just stand there and let you pick her up) and not get bitten every time Tho I suspect she wants to chew my hand. Big differance between dragons and basilisk dragons will try to get away first a basilisk will bite first then see if they can get away.

Ouch! I've never been bitten by any of my dragons. They've nicked a finger nail trying to get a worm or cricket on occasion, but even when I was worming them they never tried to bite me. AND, the 2 girls were NOT HAPPY to be getting the worm medicine. I think Avanyu just thought it was more food! LOL Does it hurt when Circe gets you? She's so cute!

Yes it hurts actually Circe has quiet the bite on her draws blood . Which I was begining to think was her food of choice I stoped hand feeding them and have been keeping track on her weight to make sure she is eatting on her own. I never see her eat but she is gaining so she must be. Cronus is very annoyed with me for not handfeeding her, now she has to actually walk to the bowl and pick something out LOL lazy lazy girl. And poor Perseus seems like everyone wants to boss her around lately. First Cronus will be waving and head bobbing at her(Cronus will even run up to her with her mouth open but thats as far as it goes and Perseus just looks at her like your an idiot) then next thing Circe is waving madly away. Perseus is going to get a complex. I did find if Cronus is waving and i wave back thats when she runs at Perseus, guess she knows she can't beat me so takes it out on poor Perseus.

i got bit by a Savannah Monitor when i was tryin to put a leash on him.. he grabed me right behind the thumb and clambed on..the thing is if you pull away he will only clamp down harder and has the power to break the bone if he wanted to but after i stopped pulling and fight back he let me go..that was the last time i ever put the leash on him. well he drew blood and i had some pretty deep cuts.. prolly should of went to the docter for stiches but i just cleaned the wounds out and band-aided it up...(my monitor is aggresive he just really hates the leash)

P.S. its not fun having a 42 inch, 5 pound lizard hanging from your thumb.. LOL

It might be a good idea to keep THAT guy WELL FED or you could end up a snack! LOL

WDM: I enjoy hand feeding my guys too much to give it up. They're just like little doggies-when mommy comes in the room Avanyu and Tripod move to the "feeding" zone! Silly Drago still wants to hunt and refuses most of my efforts, so I just throw the crix at her!

Oh I will be going back to hand feeding tho I don't think Circe will get handfeed to get near her you have to catch her and hold and stuff food in her mouth. If she likes it she eats if not she spits it out and chews on my hand. Perseus will eat a few things by hand but she is just to kewl to be hand feed. More the hay I can do it myself type. Cronus needs to eat on her own now and then she would be happy to sit in one spot if I hand feed her all the time. In fact she won't eat much on her own will go days waiting for me to hand the food to her. She is going to turn into jabba the hut

I got bitten by my AWD last saturday... it didnt hurt that much it was just more of a shock.... but then again they are nowhere near full grown

Yes my basilisk Circe lives with the dragons, They all get along fine tho Circe is more the hidding type, ofcourse with her coloring when she hangs out in the plants or dirt she can be right in front of you and you hardly see her There is a picture of Circe in with the plants its under chinese water dragons/another update on the girls wheres waldo shows how well she blends in. It's funny Circe does the wave headbob thing at the plants (guess she figures shes not big enough to convince Cronus and Perseus she's tough so she will take on the plants

Are basilisks easy to care for and how much do they roughly cost?

About the same as a dragon I treat Circe just like Cronus and Perseus except the hand feeding and petting cause she less than fond of being petted but does seem to enjoy taking a good chunk out of my finger
