I got a red light to add a bit of heat at night, but it seems bright to me. Does this bother my dragon? I am tempted to get a ceramic heating element but they are $$$$ so I don't want to race out to get one if the red light is okay.
Thanks

There is a difference between a red bulb and a nocturnal reptile bulb ( I think its the type of glass used for the ball) If your using a reptile night bulb then your dragon should not have its sleeping pattern disrupted (no guarentees about your pattern though ) The light wave length emitted by these reptile bulbs is beyond what a reptile can see. It comes across to them like a ceramic heat emitter does to us (some heat but no visible light) Hope that helps a bit.
