i only have mine for a few days and he's not up to speed yet as far as feeding, he's 14 inches long and 4 months, can i just feed him crickets once a day and offer veggies for the whole day until he gets situated?, i tried to feed him twice a day in seperate cage but he only takes few at a time and stops after, i just thought maybe feed once when he gets really hungry.

It is good that he is eating at all. Any Lizard needs time to adapt to thier new home, it isnt unusual for them not to eat in the first 2-4 days. Feed what he wants in crix two times a day and just make sure there is always fresh vegies

Derek will likely be along with specific instructions on how to acclimate and feed a new beardie. If I recall right you should offer 5-10 crix 2 times daily (as many as he will eat) and offer a fresh plate of greens all day but take it out and change it at night. Of course you will want to adjust this to put weight on your dragon. In that case offer as man crix as he will eat

My friend feeds his beardie 4 crickets in the morning, 4 in the afternoon, and 4 at night.

I'm sure Derek can help you out quite a bit, but I'll throw my 2 cents in real quick and what I did with mine. They started out in 10 gallon aquariums with backdrop film taped to the inside, the back and both sides were coverd. I put it on the inside to reduce reflections from the glass. They had one rock for basking, a simple branch, a hide cave and paper towel on the bottom of the cage. They were offered fresh dark greens every morning and crix, one to two at a time an hour after the greens. I would feed crix until they wouldn't eat anymore. For the first couple of days they would only eat around 2. Then, about 2 hours before lights out I offered them more crix. I never covered the front of the enclosure, they seemed to be doing fine with just 3 sides covered. They were in the same enclosure for about 2 weeks but were seperated when their size difference got too much. I just moved one of mine into a bigger enclosure and had to cover the front because she was snout rubbing the glass. I just taped a piece of brown paper bag to the bottom front, it's about 2 inches high. She's stopped the rubbing now. She is about the age of yours, but a lot smaller, and will eat a small amount of greens and about 4 crix in the morning and 2-3 at night. They are 1/4 in. crix with one leg removed so they easier to catch. My other BD, same age but closer to 13 inches total length will eat about a dozen in the morning and 6-7 crix at night. He nibbles at his greens once in a while but tends to go a day or two in between. They also get a freshly molted meal worm once or twice a week. I tried feeding them in a seperate enclosure at first but they wouldn't even think about eating that way. Hope this helps somewhat.
