question.. i got a vet appointment. cant get in until next saturday.. the 28th. in the mean time. i have a baby. hes almost 3 months old. hes 6 1/2 in long. he had his initial visit 3 wks ago when i got him.. tested fine for everything. nothing wrong with him.. now hes eating maybe a dozen crickets a day if that.. and some greens and pellets. he was eating 30-40 a day. my set up is fine 78 on the cool side. temp on the basking is 117 at the highest point of the day. normally its about 111. night it gets about 67.. hes looks fine. hes already gone thru a shed. but every time i turn around hes in his corner trying to sleep.. is this normal? should i not worry. i figure i would make a vet visit just to be sure that there is no parasites. but since it will be a week away is there anything else i might be able to do.

i got the basking down to 115 for the high its recommended for hatchlings to be 110-115 so 117 was slightly high.. i had a hide in there.. i removed that and he waits over there for his food now and he ate 150 crickets approx in 2 days.. so thats alot better than he was.. i am still going to keep my vet appointment though.. he is on paper towel right now.. i had him on in door out door carpet.. found to many crickets under it though

sorry i did not relise it was a baby that you had !! its brilliant that hes ate all that have you tried him on mealies? yes paper towel is much better for them when they are small in my opion as i find the carpet to be quite rough n maybe could damage skin! yes i would keep the appiontment aswell hope all goes well with it and let us no what the vet said !! manda x

i didnt like finding either dead or hiding crickets. its easier right now with the paper towel.. hes eating better. much more active not sleeping so much, hes up til i shut the light off.. i messed with the temps some more and got them slightly lower yet.. i still have the vet appointment saturday. but in a week hes grown an inch and a half. hes going thru his 2nd shed now. and hes 7 1/2 inches. so i think hes fine. and i am being slightly to concerned. but at least i will have confirmation. i have to see if i like this vet anyhow.. since it was the last vet who told me 120 degrees for the hot spot which i found out from forums was too hot

went to the vet today.. i really liked this one. said hes being taken care of perfectly. hes got good structure and weight.. BUT he has parasites. so i dont know if the last vet messed up a month ago or if he just got it... so i got the medications and started them today hopefully it keeps going as easy as it did today to give him the medication. so far hes still eating well
