Hi all, As alot of you know I live in Tucson Arizona and the weather here has been really nice early in the evenings and during the day for the last 3 or 4 days. Well, apparently it was nice enough to draw out some of the local house geckos last night. I found one clinging to the wall near my apartment pretty much dormant as it was too cold for her to go any further. I proded her with my finger and instead of the normal reaction of bolting she moved 1 or 2 steps and stooped. With the temps dropping quickly I didn't think she would make it through the night so I lined a kritter keeper with paper towel and put her in it and brought her into my home and put her up in my closet for the night. I released her this morning and after some prodeing she made a b-line away. Just wanted to share the story and some pics of her with you. She is a mediterranian gecko which is actually an invadeing species here. They thrive here in great numbers but are native to the mediterranina area.

Awwwww!!!! What a sweetie!!
You did the right thing Kiley, to let her go. Sometimes, we think we are doing them a favor by keeping them, but, we are really stressing them out & shortening their lifespan.
The pictures sure are cute tho!!!

Ya I figured she would be a heartbreak to keep. She was sure to have a parasite load (probably managable at the moment) but with stress it would likely over take her eventaully. So keeping her was out of the question (plus pooka would be livid for me cheating on her) So I figured a sleep over to buy her some warm time for the evening and a release the next morning was the way to go to keep her from freezeing.
