In the spotlight this week is Avanyu! Avanyu is the male of a trio of dragons owned by our very own Dragosmom. Dragosmom has done an excellent job with all of her dragons and Avanyu is no exception. This picture is a great one and I was glad to post it. Keep them coming folks, I have a few more but they won't last through mid august  Thanks Dragosmom. |

Thanks for posting the picture, Pooka! I think Avanyu has finally stopped growing. It looks like 30 inches is going to be it! He did gain a little weight last month and is now up to 609 grams (1 1/3 lb.) but his rapid weight and length gains have stopped.

He is FANTASTIC Dragosmom!! How old is he now? Zeke is only 18 inches & about 2 years old, so I want to compare where he is at on the growing scale......
Also, what's in the white foo-foo in the photo? Is it a toy or a treat or something?

I purchased Avanyu last July. His body length (snout to vent) indicated that he was approximately 1 year of age. That makes him 24 months (give or take) this month. Tripod came from the same breeder at the same time and she is 26 inches and weighs almost a pound. Drago is at least 2 months older than the other 2 and she is 19 inches and weighs only 150 grams (1/3 pound) but she was healthy and mature enough to lay eggs. Hope this helps!
The white netting contains odor crystals. My substrate (Eco-Earth) got over-wet and sometimes developes an odor. I put the crystals in last Sept. and just never took them out. I just did! LOL
