Hi all. I'm Melissa and I'm from Northeast Arkansas. I just adopted my baby CWD 2 days ago. I'm assuming it's a he and he's got some issues. The pet store he was at (we'll just call it SchmetCo) put him in a way too small tank with 3 other CWD's that were over Twice his size. He has scar tissue around one eye, his back leg doesn't fully extend, and he's missing 3 toes. I've had very little success getting him to eat veggies or fruits and he's not too big on the freeze fried crickets either. He unfortunately can't chase live crickets and I'm kinda stuck. They fed him a staple of waxworms and lettuce with a pinkie once in a while. I'm trying a pinkie tonight, but I want to stay away from the waxworms as much as I can because of the low nutritional value. If anyone has any suggestions as to enclosure setup or getting him to eat other foods, I'm all ears (or rather eyes, I guess).

Welcome, sorry their is not alot of traffic on here but some of us do drop by from time to time to share info. Your best bet for fast responses is the water dragon mailing list Tricia Powers runs, you can find info on that here: www.triciaswaterdragon.com/wdmailng.htmOnto your question All I can advise is to keep trying different foods, and perhaps consider a vet trip to check for stomach parasites. My Pooka came to me missing toe tips so the damage from poor care and over crowding is a fairly common thing. Good luck!
